Feel like being educated about the freeing of American slaves in the late 1800s? Well, then… Lincoln is the film for you!

This 2012 epic tells the tale of Abraham Lincoln’s journey to free African-Americans of any slavery. Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role as well as Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tommy Lee Jones. Steven Spielberg has seemed to follow a bit of a trend, as his previous film was War Horse, also a “historical-type” film, but obviously it is working out well, as Oscar nominations are flying in after every one of his directorial projects have been released.
